General Jackson
Authentic Sternwheeler

Making its second Tall Stacks appearance in 2006, the General Jackson provides a unique opportunity for Tall Stacks patrons. Each cruise experience lasts just over 2 1/2 hours and offers two seating options for a buffet meal and a spectacular performance. The Stars of the Peking Acrobats®, a showcase of sensational Chinese acrobatics, comedy, balancing acts and more, will be featured during dinner cruises. Brunch and lunch cruises will feature a high-energy, Opryland-style music performance by Tim Watson and his band, Black Creek.

Based at the Gaylord Opryland Reosrt in Nashville, Tennessee, the General Jackson is known as “the grandest showboat of them all” because of her ornate, two-story Victorian Theater on the main and upper decks. The General Jackson will be cruising four times each day of the Tall Stacks event – a morning cruise, a midday cruise, an evening cruise and a late night cruise (except on Sunday).

The show and buffet are presented in the authentic Victorian Theater that seats approximately 500 per seating. While the show and buffet are happening in the theater, additional live entertainment will be offered on the boat's Hurricane deck. You have the choice between a first or second seating of the buffet meal, which will be followed by the show in the Victorian Theater. Performances on all dinner cruises will feature The Stars of the Peking Acrobats®. Tim Watson and Black Creek will perform on all brunch and lunch cruises.

The Stars of the Peking Acrobats® have traveled all over the world, sharing their ancient art with audiences young and old. The grace and precision of the acrobats come from years of dedicated training and discipline, and demonstrate the ancient Oriental concept of achieving perfection through finding harmony of the mind and body.

Tim Watson and Black Creek perform a high-energy, live stage show featuring Cajun, gospel, bluegrass and classic country music and a good bit of Southern humor. Watson has appeared with such music superstars as George Strait, Ricky Skaggs, The Judds and K.T. Olsin.

The General Jackson is owned and operated by Gaylord Entertainment, a leading hospitality and entertainment company based in Nashville, Tennessee. Gaylord Entertainment also owns and operates the Grand Ole Opry and the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.
