The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati

The Children's Theatre presents a 35-minute hand-clappin', leg-stompin' version of Mark Twain's popular novel, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. This world-premiere musical, entitled Tom Sawyer: A River Adventure, will be performed three times daily on the Great American Insurance Stage at Yeatman's Cove located within the Tall Stacks festival area.

Experience some of the most famous and best-loved parts of Twain's classic tale, including: the Fence Painting, the Graveyard, the Island, the Funeral, the Cave. Narrated by "Mark Twain," it's fun for the whole family!

David Kisor wrote the music and lyrics for Tom Sawyer: A River Adventure, and Joseph McDonough wrote the script. Kisor and McDounough have previously collaborated on The Fantastic Toy Shoppe and Noah's Ark for The Children's Theatre. They have also created several musical plays first produced at the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati, including: The Frog Princess, Alice in Wonderland, Around The World in Eighty Days, and The Adventures of Pinocchio. Last season, David Kisor collaborated with Mary Tensing on The Children's Theatre's hit, The Rockin' Adventures of Peter Rabbit.

Performances are scheduled Wednesday through Friday at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. If you are interested in having your class attend, fill out the field trip application (Plan a Field Trip) and indicate Children's Theatre as a preference!
