Information for visitors with disabilities
Onshore
Most areas of the Tall Stacks Music, Arts & Heritage Festival are accessible for persons with disabilities. However some attractions, due to their historical authenticity, may not be wheelchair accessible.
Please note that the slope of Cincinnati’s Public Landing, where some of the Tall Stacks riverboats will be docked, is severe and the cobblestones can be difficult to negotiate for those with physical limitations. Additional information about on-site accommodations for people with disabilities will be available later this summer.
Participating Tall Stacks Riverboats
All Tall Stacks Music, Arts & Heritage Festival participating riverboats are handicapped-accessible on at least one deck; land access for boarding the boats could prove difficult. While Tall Stacks is planning some vehicular boat access (via golf carts) for people with disabilities, there may be delays in obtaining such transportation. Tall Stacks cannot guarantee non-ambulatory persons on-time transportation to reach scheduled cruises. We suggest to all visitors that they wear comfortable shoes, and in order to give themselves plenty of time, they should arrive for scheduled cruises one hour in advance.
The Celebration Belle, the Belle of Cincinnati, and the General Jackson are accessible to 3 decks via an elevator. The Belle of Louisville is accessible to 2 decks via a hydraulic lift chair.
The boats most comfortable and easily accessible from the riverfront site for our wheelchair patrons are the boats that will be docked along the Serpentine Wall. A wheelchair ramp is located at the east end of the Serpentine Wall at the foot of the L&N Bridge (the Purple People Bridge) and will provide easier access down to the river for our patrons in wheelchairs. Boats docked along the Serpentine Wall include:
Celebration Belle
Colonel
Harriet Bishop
Magnolia Belle
PA Denny
Music City Queen
Spirit of Peoria
